Heart strings (tendons) inside the human heart.
In biology we dissected a heart and our teacher told us that the heart strings can sometimes break after a deep emotional trauma causing the heart to lose form an as a result be unable to pump blood effectively, you can literally die from a broken heart
Actually these strings are not related with the heart’s structure/form, they only open up valves in order for the blood to pass from the atriums to the ventricles. These strings cannot be broken by emotional traumas, they are connective tissue, it would be like not being able to move a finger because a tendon broke cause you had emotional trauma… That just won’t happen. And if these strings actually break (for any other genetic or pathological cause), human heart would keep working just fine, since the movement of the blood from atrium to ventricles can be done by simple gravity. -Med Student
